The President of France Emmanuel macron during a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky said about his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and reminded about the importance of progress on the crisis in the East of Ukraine, reports the Elysee Palace.

“Aiming for the summit of heads of state and government of the Normandy format in September, he (macron – if) recalled the General desire for rapid progress on political initiatives and measures in the field of security necessary to resolve the conflict in the East of Ukraine”, – stated in the communique of office of the head of the French state.

Macron during the Thursday conversation, told about the “consequences of the negotiations held with the Russian President at Fort Bregancon and talks at the G7 summit”.

Also, the President of France congratulated Zelensky with the approval of the Verkhovna Rada of Alexey Goncharuk as Prime Minister of Ukraine.
