MOSCOW, June 16. /TASS/. The crew of the missile cruiser “Marshal Ustinov” conducted exercises in the Barents sea, in which reflected an air strike imaginary enemy. About it reported in a press-service of Northern fleet.

“In the framework of the implementation of the planned activities of combat training the crews of the cruiser complied with the anti-aircraft missile firing at simulated aerial targets, as well as artillery fire on the visible coast goal,” – said in the message.

The shooting held anti-aircraft missile complex “Dagger” and top caliber ship artillery installation AK-130.

The areas of the firings were previously closed to navigation and aviation. At sea the crew of the cruiser had also fulfilled the task of the struggle for the survival of the ship.

“Marshal Ustinov” – missile cruiser of project 1164 . The ship laid on 5 October 1978 at the Nikolayev shipbuilding plant, under the name of “Admiral of fleet Lobov”, launched on 25 February 1982, joined the Northern fleet on 5 November 1986 under the name “Marshal Ustinov”. With a length of 186 meters, width is 20.8 m, the maximum speed is 32 knots, the crew consists of about 500 people. On the armament of the ship are 16 launchers of cruise missiles, and air defence missile, artillery and anti-submarine weapons.
