MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. The national hockey League (NHL) may announce its decision regarding the participation of players in the League in the Olympics in 2018 in South Korea’s Pyeongchang in the next 10 days. About it reports TV channel Sportsnet.

The international ice hockey Federation (IIHF) and international Olympic Committee (IOC) are in talks with the NHL and the players ‘ Union on the participation of League players in the Olympics in 2018. At the moment the agreement on this issue has not been achieved. Earlier it was reported that the IIHF will wait for the decision of the League until the end of April.

The TV channel notes that in the NHL intends to announce the decision before the start of the playoffs because they do not want to “upstage the games on the flight” .

Previously, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman admitted that the hockey League will not go to the Olympic tournament in connection with the losses that the NHL will suffer because of the pause in the regular season for two weeks, and also because of the likely injury to the players. Later Vice-President of League bill Daly said that the NHL has not yet given a definitive answer on the participation of its players in the Games in 2018.
