The Ministry of economic development and trade (MEDT) has issued a draft resolution on the abolition of price controls on some goods and services, including ethyl alcohol, fuel and energy resources, as well as produce printed materials for the budget.

According to a post on the website of the Ministry, the adoption of this resolution will allow us to provide competitive conditions and attract investments in the modernization of production capacities.

According to the Ministry, the abolition of price regulation in the fuel and energy resources for coal, coal briquettes, stove fuel, peat, wood, lighting kerosene and liquefied gas, which are released to the population for household needs .

The draft resolution also provides for the abolition of price regulation of tobacco products in secondary, vocational and higher education institutions, the range of facilities at river ports and the development of land management documentation and carrying out land works, said the Ministry.

As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers has abolished state regulation of prices for food products on 1 July 2017.

The head of the National Bank of Ukraine Bohdan Danylyshyn stated that the decision of the government this move was premature and contributed to the growth of inflation in the conditions of monopolized economy.
