MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on March 10 will hold a meeting of the government Commission on the socio-economic development of the North-Caucasian Federal district (NCFD).

As reported the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers, “the meeting participants will discuss measures to develop domestic and incoming tourism on the territory of the North Caucasus Federal district, including the development of resorts of the North Caucasus”. The meeting will be attended by Vice-Premier Alexander Khloponin, Plenipotentiary of Russian President in North Caucasus Federal district Oleg Belaventsev, Minister for North Caucasus Affairs Lev Kuznetsov, the Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Anton Siluanov, Minister of labour and social protection Maxim Topilin, representatives of other ministries and heads of regions .

The number of tourists is growing, the resorts are built

In materials of the government of the Russian Federation to the meeting, it is noted that in 2016 the total tourist flow in the territory of the North Caucasus amounted to 3.5 million people, which is 13,4% more than in 2015. So, Stavropol Krai was visited by nearly 1.4 million tourists (6% more than in 2015), Karachay-Cherkess Republic – about 1 million people (an increase of 10%), Dagestan – more than 510 million people (19%), Kabardino-Balkaria – 420 million (40% more than the former). As previously stated the head of Minkowksi Russia, the Ministry hopes that the number of visitors to the North Caucasus region, tourists soon exceed 5 million people.

To manage the project of creating a tourist infrastructure in the North Caucasian Federal district, Krasnodar Krai and Republic of Adygeya in 2010 was created the JSC “Resorts of the North Caucasus” (KSK). In the field of mountain tourism in the framework of the state program of development of the North Caucasus in the region is creating a tourism cluster that includes the all-season complex “Arkhyz” in Karachay-Cherkessia, Elbrus in the CBD, “Veduchi” in the Chechen Republic, “Armkhi” and “Tsori” in Ingushetia, as well as the Matlas and the Caspian coastal cluster in Dagestan.

In addition, the Federal target program for the development of tourism in Russia (2011-2018) provides for the establishment of five regions of the North Caucasus, seven tourist-recreational clusters. As earlier it became known from materials of the Federal tourism Agency, the creation of tourist and recreational clusters “Golden Sands” and “Golden dunes” in Dagestan, in 2017, will be allocated subsidy from the Federal budget of $ 255,7 million rubles, the creation of an all-season tourist centre “Ingushetia” will be directed this year to 73.2 million rubles, aviaturisticheskie cluster”, For” in Kabardino-Balkaria – 160 million rubles for the creation of “Eco resort of the Caucasian mineral waters” of 200 million rubles will be allocated to Stavropol territory and 50 million rubles in Karachay-Cherkessia.

Commission for the development of the North Caucasus

The government Commission on the North Caucasus Federal district was formed in 2010. Among its main tasks – preparation of proposals on socio-economic development of the North Caucasus regions of Russia and coordination of various departments to implement the state policy in this Federal district.

At the previous meeting of the Commission at the end of December discussed the state of the fuel and energy complex in the North Caucasus, the same topic was the subject of a meeting in March of last year. In October 2016 at this meeting of the state Commission in Ingushetia, Medvedev noted that in recent years the situation in the NCFD as a whole has improved, but challenges remain – in particular, high unemployment and deficit budgets.
