British Prime Minister said he was not going to follow the local tradition.

Prime Minister Theresa may has ignored the statement of the foreign Ministry of his country and refused to cover his head with a handkerchief during a visit to Saudi Arabia, reports The Independent.

According to the newspaper, experts of the Ministry advised Mei to wear the traditional Arab dress and headscarf. However, the Prime Minister said he was not going to follow the local tradition.

“I hope that people will see me as a leader and understand what a woman can achieve” − the newspaper quoted Mei.

It is noted that in the case of the laws of Saudi Arabia there is no article requiring foreigners to wear a hat. However, guests of the Kingdom, as a rule, try not to break the strict Muslim customs.
