On 16 January on the basis of the institution “RCOP tennis” held a working meeting with participation of Chairman of the Belarusian tennis Federation , Sergey Teterinwrites tennis.by.

Following the meeting, Dmitry zhirmont became the captain of the men’s national team of Belarus. Previously, the team captain was Igor Tihonko.

“At the recent December meeting of the Board of the BTF considered the statement of the captain of Davis Cup team Tionko I. M. on the resignation. Previously there was a request from members of the men’s national team (Gerasimova E. I. Ivashko, A. Vasilevsky and others) on the appointment of captain Dmitry Zhirmont. This request is supported by the senior coach of the men’s national team Volchkov V. N. and the Bureau of Board ROO “BTF”. At the Board meeting of BTF this issue will be submitted for approval”, — stated in the message.
