MOSCOW, August 6. /TASS/. Soldiers of the Ural tank division of the Central military district destroyed the forces of the imaginary enemy in the final stage of large-scale exercises, which were held at the landfill in the Chelyabinsk region. In maneuvers attended by seven thousand people of staff, said Monday in a press-service of the district.

“The intent of the final drawing, before the soldiers had the task to defeat the hastily rolling to the defense imaginary enemy, to inflict maximum casualties, to discard and to return the lost positions” – said the press service.

A feature of this episode of the exercise was that at the same time the offensive came just two tank regiments, a total of about 200 tanks. Strikes by conventional forces of the enemy attacked eight units of aircraft – bombers su-24, helicopters Mi-8 and Mi-24, rocket artillery and mortar battery . As a result of concerted actions of the armed forces have successfully completed the assigned learning tasks.

Earlier it was reported that seven thousand soldiers of the armored division in the Urals, raised the alarm in part of the exercise. Such large-scale maneuvers held for the first time since the formation of the connection in 2016.

Guards Vitebsk-Novgorod twice red banner tank division was formed in the Central military district in the end of 2016. Part stationed on the territory of the Chelyabinsk and Sverdlovsk regions. Connection were armed with modern versions of T-72 tanks and advanced armored personnel carriers BTR-82A.
