1840 – the Official date of issue into circulation the first postage stamps (“penny Black”).

1902 – one of the largest shipwrecks of the twentieth century: in the Bay of Bengal was caught in a cyclone near Rangoon and crashed the ship “Camorta” (eng. “Camorta”) under the UK flag; the death toll amounted to 655.

1910 – George V becomes king of the United Kingdom of great Britain and Ireland and the United Kingdom of great Britain and Northern Ireland.
