KYIV, March 3. /TASS/. The General Prosecutor of Ukraine (GPU), together with the security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has completed more than 60 searches in three regions in connection with the criminal case at the Odessa customs. On Friday reported the press service of the GPU.
“The General Prosecutor’s office jointly with the SBU conducted over 60 searches in the Kyiv, Odessa and Lviv regions in criminal proceedings on the activity of the Odessa customs of the Public fiscal service (GFS – approx. TASS) Ukraine”, – have informed in a press-service.

The GPU said that officials of the Odessa customs suspected that, “acting on a prior agreement between themselves, the interests of third parties in the period from November 2015 to November 2016.. . created the conditions for customs Declaration for the import into the territory of Ukraine of different groups of goods at an undervalue”. Such actions, according to the Prosecutor’s office, caused the state damages in the amount of 6.92 million ($256 thousand). In addition, customs officials are accused of corruption.
On the eve of the representatives of the National anticorruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Special anti-corruption Prosecutor’s office (SAP) after a series of raids in the SFS arrested its head of the Roman Nasirov when he was on treatment in the health complex “Feofania” in Kiev. The official is suspected of abuse of office that led to serious consequences. According to the investigation, Nasirov during 2015-2016 illegally assisted in the installment of the tax debt of the enterprises in the gas sector, connected with the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Onishchenko. These actions have caused the state losses amounting to about UAH 2 billion ($74 million).
On Friday, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has dismissed Nasirova from the duties of the head of the SFS at the time of the investigation. Head of SAP Nazar Golodnitsky said that the investigation against the officer is planned to be completed within two months and that his Department will apply to the court Nasirova on election of a measure of restraint in form of detention.
