Poland, like Ukraine, opposes the construction of the pipeline “Nord stream-2”, said the Polish President Andrzej Duda.

“Poland’s position on the issue of “North stream-2″ unchanged. We are totally opposed to this investment. We believe that it violates European norms that it is against the interests of the European Union and then our position (with Ukraine – if), from the beginning unique, identical and unchanged,” said Duda at a joint briefing with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in Kharkiv on Wednesday.

“We are very grateful to Poland for its position on the “Nord stream-2″. This is a threat not only to the energy security of Ukraine or Poland. It is a threat to energy security across Europe. This is absolutely a political project”, – said in his turn Poroshenko.

Duda also said that during the talks in Kharkov, he discussed with P . Poroshenko a question of support of Ukraine through investments, which consist of the construction of the gas pipeline Interconnector.

“I am delighted that this investment task is implemented now and there is a close cooperation of Poland and Ukraine. We are open to possible proposals of Ukraine on deliveries of liquefied gas to Ukraine,” Duda said.

According to him, the project of construction of a gas Interconnector must be implemented so that it will benefit both countries.

“This is an investment that should serve our countries. And it should be implemented so that both parties benefited from this investment,” said Duda.
