National public television company of Ukraine (NOTE) decided not to broadcast the football world Cup, which will take place this summer in Moscow, said the head NOTE Zurab Alasania in an interview published in the newspaper “Uryadovy courier” on Saturday.
“We refuse him (for the 2018 world Cup – if) show. This is a serious multi million dollar business, the rights to the show bought before 2013. It’s a difficult decision. “Public” can show the world championship in Moscow? No,” – he stressed.
Z. Alasania also stressed that the market of Ukrainian television, who also had agreements about parallel screening after learning about the position NOTE also began to refuse to broadcast the 2018 world Cup.
As reported, the Minister of youth and sports of Ukraine Igor Zhdanov, Ukrainian urged fans not to go to Russia for the world Cup, which will take place this summer.
February 1, the football Federation of Ukraine has officially confirmed that it will not conduct the accreditation of Ukrainian journalists to cover the final of the 2018 world Cup in Russia. At the same time, a number of Ukrainian journalists received accreditation for the 2018 world Cup football in Russia directly through FIFA.
In addition, UFF has abandoned its quota for the purchase of tickets for matches of the 2018 world Cup.
At the end of January the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said that Ukraine is in talks with football federations and fan organisations about the possibility of boycotting the world Cup in 2018 in Russia or about the protests during the event.
