In the fall of a construction crane on a five-story apartment building in the U.S. city of Dallas (Texas) one person was killed and at least six were injured, reports Associated Press.

According to the representative of fire service of the city of Jason Evans, died a woman who was at the time of the incident inside the building. Two others are in critical condition. The condition of three is estimated as heavy, one received minor injuries.

A spokesman said that while early to speak about exact quantity of victims.

It is noted that the rescuers were called to the scene around 14:00 after the national weather service has issued a warning about a severe thunderstorm approaching the city, and winds up to 113 km/h.

Evans stressed that the exact cause of the crane collapse is unknown, but there is a “strong likelihood” that the wind “played a role in collapse”.
