MOSCOW, March 2. /TASS/. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the participation of the representative of Russia in “Eurovision” in Kiev there are reasons for concern. However, he stressed that no decisions about the refusal to participate was not accepted.

“Of course, given the venue of this contest and possible problems with safety, and with a hostile attitude (to the Russians) a specific concern is obvious,” – said the representative of the Kremlin . “Any decision (on non-participation of the representative of Russia), as far as we know, has been taken,” he said.
In Russia there are calls to boycott the European song contest, which this year will take place in Kiev. These appeals were joined and the first Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on culture, people’s artist of the USSR Joseph Kobzon.
“The Kremlin doesn’t have any position on this subject and a possible boycott, it is not clear whether this is a boycott,” admitted Sands.
International song contest “Eurovision” is held annually since 1956, with the participation of one representative from member countries of the European broadcasting Union. Traditionally, the competition is held in the state representative who won last time.
