The Ukrainian poet Boris Oleynik was buried on baykovoye cemetery in Kiev. About it reports a press-service of the Ministry of culture of Ukraine in Facebook.
Funeral service (memorial service) for the deceased was held in the Holy Dormition Cathedral of Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
After this farewell ceremony was held in the club of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine . Last respects to Boris Oliynyk came to pay the members of the government headed by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman, MPs, famous figures of culture and fans of his work.
“It is very significant that to honor the memory of the famous Ukrainian poet Boris Oleynik so many people came. Today we pay tribute to the personality that embodies an entire era. Despite the difficult socio-political conditions that accompanied him throughout his life, he still was able to maintain itself as a great poet, as a person who defended their own beliefs,” he said during the farewell ceremony, Minister of culture of Ukraine Yevhen nischuk.
The famous Ukrainian poet was buried at the Baikove cemetery.
Recall, an outstanding Ukrainian poet, Hero of Ukraine, member of NASU, Chairman of the Ukrainian Fund of culture, the honorary academician of the Academy of arts of Ukraine, Chairman of the Committee for the National prize of Ukraine Taras Shevchenko (2005-2015), member of the Board of the National Union of ethnographers Ukraine, the famous statesman Borys Oliynyk died April 30, in the 82nd year of life after heavy and long illness.
