Warsaw will draw the attention of the UN security Council on the observance of international law and freedom of religion.
Poland again for a month led the UN Security Council. Their priorities, the poles chose compliance with international law and freedom of religion. The first meeting of the security Council under the chairmanship of Poland will take place tomorrow, 2 August, reports “Polish radio”.
Poland became a temporary member of the UN Security Council in January last year. In may, she for a month headed the organization. It was then that the UN security Council with the participation of President Andrzej Duda held a discussion on the role of international law in maintaining peace and security. The meeting, convened by Poland, was also devoted to the protection of civilians in armed conflict and the situation in Ukraine.
In the course of the next Poland’s presidency of the UN Security Council will discuss the conflict in the middle East, as well as the report on the Islamic state and the conflicts in Syria, Yemen, Burma and African countries.
At a meeting of the members of the UN security Council will consider the issue of compliance with international law, paying special attention to humanitarian law. There’s also the debate about religious freedom, which will be held August 22 – “the international day of remembrance of the victims of sectarian violence”.
Tomorrow under the leadership of Poland the members of the UN Security Council will discuss the issue of use of children in armed conflict. The discussion will be headed by the Minister of foreign Affairs of Poland Jacek Czaputowicz.
