Poland and Britain have proposed to the Ukrainian party the alternative of negotiating a settlement of the conflict in the Donbas, but the final decision remains with Kiev, said the Minister of foreign Affairs of Poland Witold Waszczykowski.

“We haven’t agreed on a new format, but of course, like I said, we will evaluate the results of implementation of the Minsk agreements, as well as the assessment of the work of the “channel format” … we Have hope for an opportunity to open a discussion about the new format of the permissions (the situation in the Donbas – Interfax). But the solution, of course, Paul (Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin – if), the President Poroshenko and the Ukrainian authorities,” – said Waszczykowski during a joint press conference with foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and foreign Minister of great Britain Boris Johnson on Wednesday in Kiev .

He noted that the British and Polish side took the initiative, but the decision about the best solution to the conflict in the Donbass remains for the Ukrainian side.

V. Waszczykowski stressed the importance of the solution of the conflict by any means.

In turn, Pavlo Klimkin said that the meeting does not mean the beginning of negotiations in a new format. “When three friends meet together – this is not necessarily the formal beginning of the new format, but it’s definitely the beginning of new joint efforts”, – stressed the Minister.
