News of Ukraine: Poland intensifies control at checkpoints on the border with Ukraine because of the spread of ASF.

In connection with the distribution in Poland of the virus of African swine fever (ASF), the Polish border guards strengthen control at checkpoints on the Eastern border of the country, informs the Internet edition of the Polish radio.

“Enhanced monitoring is necessary especially now that an increasing number of persons crossing the Eastern border of Poland. This is due to the pre – period”, – quotes the edition of the employee of the customs Department of the State tax administration of Poland Peter Pogorelskogo.

According to him, over the past year, the Polish border guards detained nearly 200 tonnes of illegal animal products. “Seize them and destroy the nearby checkpoint. Most often this procedure we do at border crossings with Ukraine, Belarus and with the Kaliningrad region” – said P. Pogorzelski” .
