In Odessa region militiamen establish circumstances of a fatal road traffic accident on the highway “Izmail-Odessa”, in which a man died.

“About 20 o’clock near S. Morocco on the road “Izmail-Odesa” under the wheels of the car “VAZ” has died. Now on the scene the police work. The mechanism of the accident”, – informs the Department of communication of the police of Odessa region

According to preliminary information, the accident occurred on an unlit stretch of road, and the man crossed the road in an unspecified place with the bike in hand.

“As a result of the accident the pedestrian, whose identity is now established, was injured and died in the ambulance”. Driving the car was a police officer who was off duty,” said the police.

The issue of entering data in the Unified register of pre-trial investigation (ERDR) under part 2 of article 286 (violation of traffic safety or transport operation by the persons operating vehicles) the Criminal code of Ukraine.

Information about the accident transferred to the staff of the State Bureau of investigation (UIR).

Later the police informed that the police officer who was driving, passed a medical examination, according to which signs of intoxication it is not revealed.
