TASS, 4 August. U.S. Secretary of state Michael Pompeo reported that conveyed to the foreign Minister of the DPRK ri Yong Ho’s message to DPRK leader Kim Jong-UN from the President of the United States Donald trump at the event, the Association of Southeast Asia in Singapore.

“Today I had the opportunity to talk with my colleague from Korea Lee Yong-Ho. We had a brief, polite conversation. Our delegation also had the opportunity to send a response to trump in a letter to Kim Jong-UN,” Pompeo wrote on Saturday on Twitter.
According to the head of the press service of the Department of state Heather Nauert, who on Saturday cited by Reuters, the message was a response to a letter to Kim Jong UN from August 1 .
Earlier, the press Secretary of the White house Sarah Sanders reported that trump received a new letter from the leader of the DPRK. “The ongoing exchange of correspondence between leaders takes place in the development of their meeting in Singapore and aims to promote the commitments made at [U.S.-DPRK] in the framework of the joint U.S.-North Korean statements,” she explained, without revealing the content of the message.
On 12 June, Singapore hosted the first ever summit between the US and the DPRK. According to its results trump and Kim Jong-UN issued a joint statement. In it, in particular, Pyongyang announced it was ready to go the full denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, and the United States pledged in response to provide the DPRK with security guarantees. The intention of the parties not specified in the final communiqué of the Singapore summit.
