Washington is planning to impose new sanctions against Iran for violations of human rights by the Iranian authorities, said the US Secretary of state Mike Pompeo.

He wrote on Twitter that in response to his appeal to the Iranian people sent to the US state Department evidence of such violations from Iran had already received 20 thousand messages.

“At the moment we have got about 20 thousand messages. The United States has already taken action against the Minister of misinformation on Iran. Coming new sanctions,” said Pompeo.

He also noted that “the brutality of the Iranian regime are not limited to the borders of the country.”

“Last week, an Iranian dissident Masoud of Malawi was killed in Istanbul after moving to Turkey. His murder is yet another example in a long line of Iranian-backed conspiracy assassinations outside of Iran,” wrote the Secretary of state.
