The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in the near future will meet with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, reports the Embassy of Ukraine in Belarus.
According to the Ukrainian Embassy on the official website, on Thursday, March 30, the new Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus Igor Kizim presented copies of his credentials to the Deputy foreign Minister of Belarus Andrei Yevdochenko.
“During the meeting, they discussed issues of strengthening of Belarusian-Ukrainian contacts at all levels. In particular, it focuses on the importance of training planned for the near future a meeting of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko”, – said in the message of the Embassy.
It is also noted that special attention was paid to the issues of deepening bilateral trade and economic cooperation and growth of trade turnover between the countries .
They also discussed the cooperation between the Ukrainian Embassy and the foreign Ministry of Belarus consular and legal issues and protection of rights of Ukrainian citizens on the territory of Belarus.
As reported, on February 16, 2017 the President of Ukraine P. Poroshenko appointed Igor Kizima, the Ambassador of Ukraine in Belarus.
In April 2015, Poroshenko withdrew Ukrainian Ambassador to Belarus Mikhail Ezhel. The chargé d’affaires of Ukraine to Belarus was appointed Valery dzhigun.
