President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has accepted the credentials from ambassadors of some foreign countries: the Republic of Cyprus – Louis Telemachus, Czech Republic – Radek Matula and the United Arab Emirates Salem Ali al-Kaaba.
As reported on the official website of the President, the newly-appointed ambassadors expressed condolences to the Ukrainian people in connection with tragedy on “Mine “Stepova”.
During the conversation, the Ukrainian head of state with the Ambassador of Cyprus, the two sides discussed the schedule of bilateral contacts at a high level. Special attention was paid to aggression of Russia against Ukraine. Poroshenko thanked Cyprus for its consistent support for the territorial integrity, sovereignty and the European aspirations of Ukraine and expressed hope for further preservation of the unity of the EU in matters of sanctions against Russia .
The center of attention during conversation of the President with the Ambassador of the Czech Republic were the issues of bilateral political dialogue, deepening trade and economic ties and intensification of cooperation of the visegrád group. The interlocutors also noted the importance of holding the 2017 regular session of the intergovernmental Commission on economic, industrial and scientific-technical cooperation. The Czech Ambassador noted that the issue of territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine can not be subject to any negotiation or compromise.
Ambassadors of the Czech Republic and Cyprus expressed as soon as possible to granting Ukraine visa-free regime with the EU.
Poroshenko and the UAE Ambassador discussed the issue of attracting investments into the economy of Ukraine. The priority areas of bilateral cooperation were identified energy sector, agricultural sector and industry infrastructure. The interlocutors also touched upon the issue of liberalization of the visa regime between the countries.
