The European Union Commissioner for European neighbourhood policy and enlargement Johannes Hahn believes that prospective investors in Mariupol is metallurgy, engineering, agriculture, and in medium – and long-term tourism.

“The first is called steel and everything that goes with it… the production of engines, also if you look around, you can see that it is a rich agricultural area, so the production of agricultural products is another promising area. Also in the medium-long term, I would not underestimate the potential of tourism,” he said at a briefing in Mariupol (Donetsk region) on Friday.

The Commissioner noted that in Mariupol there are a significant number of highly qualified personnel and good scientific base.

Vice Prime Minister – Minister of regional development, construction and housing and utilities Gennady Zubko noted that Ukraine has to offer Europe the scope for investment .
