Today, June 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed new Russian Ambassador to Turkey.
According to the decree, published on the official portal of legal information, the new Russian Ambassador in Turkey was Alex erchov – it will be on the post instead of the previous Ambassador of the Russian Federation Andrey Karlov, who was killed in December 2016 in Ankara.
It is reported that erchov previously held the position of Director of the Department of the situational crisis center of the Russian Ministry of foreign Affairs. And before that, he spent several years was the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Istanbul.
As previously reported, “Russian Dialogue,” Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday, June 18, was released from duty of heads of administrations of the RF IC, the interior Ministry, the Federal penitentiary service in some regions .
We will remind, the Turkish media identified the shooter who killed the Russian Ambassador in Turkey Andrey Karlov. The gunman was 22-year-old mevlüt MERT Altıntaş – commando, presumably part of the protection of the Russian diplomat and guarding his visit to the opening of the exhibition.
