YEKATERINBURG, June 17. /TASS/. The winner of the rally – marathon “Dakar” in 2017 in the Quad class Sergey Karjakin said about the great losses that he will incur because of a change in the route of the international rally-marathon “silk way”. About this Koryakin said on his page in Facebook.

Initially, the start of the “silk road” was scheduled for July 15 in the Chinese city of Xian, and finish on July 29 in Moscow. On Friday, the rally organizers announced the changes to the route, which will be divided into two parts: the first will be held in Russia from 20 to 27 July (start in Astrakhan) and the second in September in China.

“Two weeks to change the route of the rally is simply unrealistic – written by Karjakin. – We already had purchased all the tickets, booked accommodation, paid visa, and I am sure so many participants . The only numbers with seven zeros and who now will return us the money? We all know there are different situations, but why the participants were faced that fact for 2 weeks, when there is no turning back”.

He noted that the proposed version of the rally is much more expensive than the previous. “Yes, and pass the entire route I wanted for once, and now it looks like two separate races. For steps around Astrakhan will be considered as training buggy before the “Dakar” 2019. I hope in the near future the organizers will contact participants and can be explained in detail, as will now appear rally,” added racer.
