According to the study, these asteroids can be produced by fragmentation of parent bodies held too close to the stars. Their fragments are ejected into interstellar space, and the surface of the asteroid will melt.

This crust will provide the asteroid structural stability of an elongated shape. Tidal destruction also reduces the amount of volatile substances, which explains the color of the surface Omwamwi and lack around him the vague shell.
