Investigators of the Central apparatus of the State Bureau of investigation (RRG) on Friday carried out searches in the Odessa regional Council and city Council of Izmail (Odessa region) in the investigation of criminal proceedings on embezzlement of budget funds allocated for the development of Izmail district.

As reported the press service of the RRT, according to preliminary information, over 2015-2019, the Odessa regional Council allocated funds for the development of the Izmail region, including for capital repair of houses of culture, road kindergarten in Izmail, children’s and youth sports schools of the terminal building Airport “Izmail”, and also on reconstruction of unfinished construction of a secondary school.

It is established that the allocated funds were not spent for the intended purpose, as specified construction work actually carried out or was not carried out in full. In addition, enterprises participating in the construction work, artificially determined winners in the tender procedures. Budget funds received in the result transferred to the accounts of non-resident companies of Ukraine, which may be associated with the management of the Odessa regional Council, said in the RRG.

At the same time order and direct control over the conduct of these works were officials of Izmail city Council.
