RIO DE JANEIRO, June 16. /Offset. TASS Darya Yuryeva/. Russia and Brazil are working to make the political dialogue between the two countries more systematically. This is stated in the article of the President of the South American Republic Michel Temer, published in the newspaper Estado de Sao Paulo on the eve of his visit to the Russian Federation.
“In Moscow we will also try to structure the political dialogue, to make it more systematic. We will sign a plan of bilateral consultations for the period 2018-2020. Thus, we will further strengthen our cooperation on issues that Russians and Brazilians are discussed in the framework of the UN, G20, BRICS and other international bodies,” said Temer.
Convention for the avoidance of double taxation between Russia and Brazil will enter into force in the coming days, said Michel Temer .
“I’ll bring in the Russian capital, the news of the completion of Brazil’s internal procedures necessary for the entry into force in the coming days, bilateral agreement for avoidance of double taxation and combating tax evasion. And during the visit we will sign new agreements aimed at attracting investment and promoting trade,” – said the head of state in his article.
In January 2009 Dmitry Medvedev holding then a post of the President of the Russian Federation, signed the law on ratification of the Russian-Brazilian Convention on avoidance of double taxation. However, the Brazilian authorities for its part in for several years has not ratified the document. In 2015, the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko appealed to Michele the Temer, who was then Vice-President of the largest South American country, with a request to accelerate the procedure.
Brazil is ready to increase deliveries of its agricultural products to Russia and diversify exports, it is also stated in the article, Michel Temer.
“In confirmation of the trajectory of recovery of the two economies, the trade turnover between Brazil and Russia grew by more than 40% in the first five months of 2017, compared to the same period last year. However, it is much lower than our capacity,” – said the head of state.
“Given the scale economies of our two countries there is room for further growth. We are interested to expand the access of our agricultural products to the Russian market and to diversify our exports,” said Temer. He added that Brazil and Russia will also work towards bringing together the common market of the South (MERCOSUR) and the Eurasian economic Union (EEU).
An agreement to open a Brazilian cultural centres in the Russian Federation and the Russian cultural centers in Brazil will be signed during the forthcoming visit of the President of this South American country Michel Temer in Moscow.
“The issue of culture will not be left without attention during my visit to Russia. We will sign agreements that will pave the way to host a Brazilian cultural centres in Russia – in Brazil. In addition, the world Cup, which will be held in Russia in 2018, will help further rapprochement of our peoples,” said Temer, in his article in the newspaper Estado de Sao Paulo.
June 6, foreign Ministry of Brazil reported that Temer will be in Russia on a visit on June 20-21. After that, the head of the South American Republic will travel to Norway.
