Observers from Russia will be invited to attend large-scale military exercises Aurora-2017, which will be held from 11 to 29 September in Sweden. This decision was taken by the government of the Scandinavian country.

In addition to Russia, to monitor the exercises invited the representatives of all the countries around the Baltic sea. In total Sweden has sent invitations to the exercises 15 countries, including Russia, Belarus, USA, Germany, UK and France, reports “Russian conversation”.

Forthcoming exercises should be the largest in Sweden over the last 20 years. They will become unique to this country, so as to be held at sea, on land and in the air. The bulk of the exercise will unfold at venues in Stockholm and its environs. In the exercises, according to preliminary estimates, will take part about 19.5 thousand troops of Sweden . In addition, are expected to participate in the exercises of approximately 1,500 military from other countries, particularly from the United States and France.

The Minister of defence of Sweden Peter Hultqvist added that it would be a smart move on Moscow’s part to invite the Swedish observers at military exercises “Zapad”, which together will carry out the Russian Federation and Belarus.

As previously reported, the Russian defense Ministry made a statement that in early July this year held large-scale exercises of the Russian airborne troops.
