The Russian Federation is abusing the law by refusing to return the black boxes and the wreckage.
Russia must return to Poland the wreckage of the presidential Tu-154M, which is more than eight years ago, crashed near Smolensk. This is stated in the resolution of the Committee on legal Affairs and human rights of the Council of Europe. On Monday, June 25, reports PAP.
The resolution notes that the constant failures of Moscow’s misuse of law.
“Eight years after the accident, Russia still holds the wreckage and the black boxes with the original recordings of flight data and other evidence. Poland for many years requires that the debris and all the raw materials have been returned”, – the report says.
Work on the resolution lasted for several years. In October 2014 the project was presented to the parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. Then it was signed by over 40 MPs . In 2015, the document came to the Committee on legal Affairs and human rights, which accepted it. It is suggested that the report was adopted by the Assembly.
Recall that in mid-April, a Subcommittee of the defense Ministry of Poland has published a technical report on the Smolensk catastrophe, in which it is stated that the Tu-154 was destroyed in the explosion, and the explosions occurred on the earth.
Later the Ministry of defence of Poland said that the body of the aircraft, as well as on the body of at least one of the victims discovered traces of explosives.
