The ships detained by Russian border guards a year ago in the incident in the Kerch Strait, transfer to Ukraine, said on Sunday “Interfax” the head of a group of lawyers Ukrainian sailors Mykola Polozov.

“According to my information, ships now removed from Kerch to transfer to Ukraine”, – he said.

Polozov said that the transfer of ships to the Ukrainian side may testify as to exclude them from the physical evidence, and about transfer on responsible storage.

“We do not know may have them excluded from evidence, but it may well be that they are passed to Ukraine for safekeeping. I think that when we turn to the study of the material evidence in the case, we know the reason for the transfer ships,” he said.

On his page on the social network Facebook Polozov reminded that the UN international Tribunal on law of the sea may 25 this year issued an order on the application of interim measures.

The lawyer recalled that in early September a prisoner of war, the Ukrainian sailors were changed the measure of restraint and they were able to return to Ukraine. “Thus, subparagraph 1 (b) of the order of the Tribunal, the Russian authorities have been met”, – he wrote.

Polozov said that the same applies to subparagraph 1 (a), the return of the ships. “Right now the ship “Berdyansk”, “Nikopol” and “Yana-Kapu” withdrawal from Kerch. After their transfer to Ukraine, the Russian Federation will be able to provide a report to the UN Tribunal on the following two points may order,” – he stressed.

Thus the lawyer considers that after returning to Ukraine, the captured sailors and their ships, “the natural and reasonable conclusion to this story in Russia should be the termination of the criminal case against the sailors.”
