MOSCOW, March 1. /TASS/. Russian biathlete Timofey Lapshin acquired citizenship of South Korea and will represent the country in international competitions. It is reported by Yonhap news Agency.

The statement by 29-year-old athlete for citizenship was approved by the Ministry of justice of South Korea on Monday.

Last year other Russian biathletes Alexander Starodubets, Anna Polina and Ekaterina avvakumova also became citizens of South Korea.

Lapshin was twice winner of the world Cup in the relay .
