KOROLEV /Moscow region/, August 18. /TASS/. Russian cosmonauts Fyodor Yurchikhin and Sergey Ryazansky returned on Board the International space station (ISS) after a spacewalk, which lasted 7.5 hours, told TASS in the mission control Center.

“The astronauts have successfully completed the prescribed program objectives and returned to the station, having closed the egress hatch,” he said at MCC.

Initially, the work of astronauts in outer space was supposed to last 6 hours 5 minutes, but PCO extended outside the ISS, since astronauts do not have time to complete the work on schedule.

It was the first spacewalk for Russian cosmonauts from February 2016 .

During the Eva the astronauts tested a new generation of spacesuit “Orlan-MKS”, taken from the surface of the ISS samples, which were tested technology of the repair of space structures, found on the surface of the ISS equipment to determine the chemical composition and the spatial distribution of emission from the nozzle engines service module “Zvezda”. In addition, they manually made consistent launch of nanosatellites “ТС530-Mirror”, “Tomsk-TPU-120”, two nanosatellites “Tanya-SWSU” and “TNS-0 No. 2”, and took swabs for the search of microbial surface contamination of the station.


The next spacewalk planned for late 2017. He is currently postponed to February 2018. The main objective of the solution – installation on external surface MKS instruments relay data to Earth via the satellite system “Luch”.
