MOSCOW, June 2. /TASS/. The Russian fighter of the mixed style Vitaly Minakov, speaking in the heavy weight category, defeated the Brazilian Antonio Silva in the tournament Fight Nights Global 68, which takes place in St. Petersburg.

The match ended with the victory of Russia in the second round by TKO due to stoppage due to the passive protection of Silva.

32-year-old Minakov remains undefeated, having won 20 fights in mixed martial arts (18 – early). Previously, he held regular fights under the aegis of one of the biggest fights in mixed martial arts Bellator, having won in 2013 the championship belt in the heavyweight division. Was stripped of the belt in 2016 due to inactivity.

37-year-old Silva has been held for 32 combat in mixed martial arts, scoring 19 wins (17 early), having suffered 11 defeats and ending one match with a draw . Previously, he also competed in Bellator, as well as in the most popular organization of mixed martial ultimate fighting championship (UFC). During his career, the Brazilian spent the encounters with such known fighters, as the Dutchman Alistair Overeem (win), Americans Daniel Cormier (lesion) and the Russian Fedor Emelianenko (win).
