SAMARA, on 28 April. /TASS/. Stadium “Samara-arena” will be closed from 24 may to 14 June to prepare for the world Cup. About it to journalists has informed the Vice Prime Minister on sport, tourism and youth policy Vitaly Mutko.

Comprehensive training before the first test match at the “Samara-Arena” will take place on Wednesday

Arena in Samara on Friday received permission to commissioning and was the last stadium was commissioned before the world championship. Construction on the stadium was behind schedule.

“It was a very provocative project. Today I am happy and pleased that there is a test match, there is still a lot of landscaping work, we’ve got two more test matches . On may 24 we will close the stadium until June 14, all are in absolute order,” – said Mutko.

“Football in Samara died. Main base – the fans, the city got a good stadium, I congratulate the Governor and the government. In terms of technological solutions stadium can be considered the most special after the “Luzhniki”. The quality of the pitch is amazing,” he added.

The world championship will be held from June 14 to July 15. Samara will take six tournament matches: the group stage, Costa Rica – Serbia (17 June) Denmark – Australia (June 21), Uruguay – Russia (25 June), and Senegal – Colombia (June 28), as well as one game of the 1/8 finals and 1/4 finals.
