March 17, reporters asked press Secretary of Vladimir Putin to comment on the fact that Kiev does not intend to abandon its claims on the Crimean Peninsula.
According to the speaker of the Kremlin, the current position of the Ukrainian authorities is temporary in nature. Moscow hopes that Kiev will sooner or later respect the will of the Crimeans clearly expressed his position three years ago in a referendum, reports “Russian conversation”.
“We hope that this understanding will prevail in Kiev”, – he said.
Dmitry Peskov said that many residents of the Crimea decision to join Russia saved their lives and escaped the fate of the population of Donbass, which have been involved in a civil war in Ukraine.
He stressed that the decision on the referendum was taken, then the current Crimean authority established on the basis of the Ukrainian legislation .
As previously reported, “Russian conversation”, Senator Alexei Pushkov expressed support for the withdrawal from the agenda of Russian-American relations of the Crimean issue.
