The security service of Ukraine under the law will verify the information and make recommendations regarding the possibility of touring Russian artists on the territory of Ukraine, the head of the SBU Basil Gritsak.

“Yes, indeed, there is a law that provides for referral to the SBU for 30 days prior to arrival or someone else with the provision of personal data…. We for 10 days should give its recommendations to the… to open or close the entrance.”- said V. Hrytsak at a briefing on Saturday in Kiev, answering the question how to act the SBU in relation to the Russian artists who want to tour in Ukraine.

He also said that the Ministry of culture of Ukraine is developing a procedure penalty.

Answering the question, what would be the criteria of the ban, the head of the SBU said, “a Threat to national security” .

As reported, on October 5, 2017 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the law on touring activities in Ukraine (about the peculiarities of organization and conduct touring activities in Ukraine with the participation of the citizens of the aggressor country), which stipulates that Russian players will be able to tour in Ukraine only after consultation with the security Service of Ukraine.

The law provides for a prohibition of tour events, if it involved a person who made to the list of persons posing a threat to national security.

The law also stipulates that in case the tour participant is a citizen of the aggressor country, the organizer not later than 30 days before the day of the tour takes in the security service request to obtain information about the presence or absence of legal grounds to prevent a citizen of the aggressor country to participate in this event.

According to the law, security service of Ukraine within 10 days of receipt of the request, considers and provides to the tour organizer about availability or absence of legal grounds to prevent a citizen of the aggressor country to participate in the tour.
