Less than half a minute, the virus SARS-CoV-2 can be removed from contaminated surfaces by ultraviolet light.

American scientists have identified the destructive effect of UV on the coronavirus. Relevant research was conducted by the National laboratory for infectious diseases (NIEDL) Boston University and the company Signify, reports on Wednesday, July 29, RIA Novosti.

It is noted that in the study, scientists conducted an experiment: they worked with the contaminated virus material with different doses of UV radiation. They then evaluated the rate of inactivation of the virus.

It turned out that the dosing of lamps in five millijoules per square centimeter the spread of SARS-CoV-2 decreased by 99% for six seconds, and the exposure lamps 22 MJ/cm2 coronavirus almost completely destroyed in 25 seconds.

Prior to this, scientists have found that the coronavirus is transmitted in a radius of eight meters.

We will remind, researchers from Singapore have come to the conclusion that human immune cells can recognize the coronavirus after the first contact with them, even years later. And this is a more important factor of the immune system than antibodies.
