Search works on a place of a fire in the building of the Odessa College of Economics, law and hotel and restaurant business will be continued on Wednesday after the removal of the emergency wing that is necessary to ensure the safety of the rescuers and law enforcement, said the head of the Odessa regional state administration Maxim Kuts.

“Today, builders demolished part of the emergency economic wing of the College. This wall could fall on the heads of rescuers and police, causing search operations and investigations in this area have not been conducted,” wrote Kutz on his page on the social network Facebook on Tuesday evening.

According to him, for the work has attracted experts of the Odessa state Academy of construction and architecture, Kyiv experts and utilities. “Now demolished two storey outbuilding. Two more teams have to disassemble tomorrow morning. Now work interferes fog,” – said the head of regional administration.

He also said that for the safety of construction workers and rescue operation to dismantling was decided to conduct only in the daytime. “The search for missing persons in this area will continue immediately after the demolition of the remaining two floors,” wrote Kutz.

As reported at 10:12 on 4 December in the Odessa College of Economics, law and hotel and restaurant business on the third floor of a six storey educational building was on fire, the area of which reached 4 thousand sq. m. divisions of gschs rescued and evacuated 40 persons (12 persons brought by staircases 10 people were removed by the units of gas and smoke protective service, 18 people using stairs and lifts) of about 400, were in the building at the time of the fire.

At 14:18 on the same day the fire was localized, but the putting out individual fires and smoldering plots continued for a long time.

As a result of fire killed 12 people, the fate of the six remains unknown. In hospitals there are nine out of 30 victims.

It was reported that the burned building can be saved, but there is a risk of collapse of the walls.

Upon a fire criminal proceedings under part 2 of article 270 (violation established by the legislation of fire safety requirements) of the Criminal code of Ukraine. December 5 and 6 were declared mourning days in Odessa, December 8, in Ukraine.
