MOSCOW, may 22. /TASS/. Russian Maria Sharapova rose from 211 to 173-e a place in a rating of Female tennis Association (WTA). The updated ranking is published on the official website of the organization.

Sharapova returned to a rating of three weeks ago, having resumed the performance after a 15-month suspension for Meldonium. First, she reached the semifinals of the tournament in Stuttgart in the next tournament – in Madrid – the Russian was defeated in the second round. Last week, Sharapova played in Rome, where he reached the second round, but withdrew from the tournament because of a thigh injury. However, the victory in the first round over American Christina McHale allowed her to rise to 38 positions in the updated rankings.
By getting into the top 200 now Sharapova can play qualifying for Wimbledon . Earlier, the organizing Committee of the Open championship of France refused the Russian in the provision of wild card (special invitation) in the main draw and the qualification. In the title race WTA, the results of which are determined by the eight participants in the final tournament of the year, Sharapova rose to 129 points and now occupies 82-th line.
In the top 10 included Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina, who won the tournament in Rome. She also came in first place in the title race – Ukrainian this season has already won four tournaments.
