Small missile ship “Grad svijazhsk”

ASTRAKHAN, June 5. /TASS/. The Russian defense Minister, army General Sergei Shoigu had personally carried out an exercise with the crew of the small missile ship “Grad svijazhsk”, which in October 2015 for the first time applied the latest cruise missiles “Caliber” in actual combat, striking at the infrastructure of the militants in Syria.

Naval power of the Russian Caspian sea

On Board the ship, Navy commander Admiral Vladimir Korolev reported to the Minister that by 2020, the Caspian flotilla 76% will be equipped with the latest weaponry and military equipment. Also Shoigu heard the report of the commander of the flotilla rear-Admiral Sergei Pinchuk Foundation on the progress of re-equipment of the Caspian flotilla, the construction of military infrastructure.

Pinchuk said that the plan of the winter training period 2017 fleet fully realized . During this time the staff has fulfilled 280 combat exercise, one of the units has confirmed the title of shock.

The Minister of defence has verified that the organization of combat training, arrangement of formations and military units of the fleet, familiarized with the facilities quay-the pier-type zone of the brigade of missile ships of protection of water area, checked combat duty and appreciated the willingness of the connections to perform the tasks.
