PARIS, July 11. /TASS/. Slovak cyclist of the German team Bora-Hansgrohe, Peter Sagan won the fifth stage of the prestigious race “Tour de France”. The stage started in Lorient and finished in Quimper.

Sagan overcame 204,5 km in 4 hours 48 minutes 6 seconds. Second place went to Italian Sonny Solbrille of team Bahrain-Merida, who finished with the same time. The third was the Belgian Philippe Gilbert of Quick-Step Floors (same time).

Leadership in the General classification continues to hold the Belgian rider from the American BMC team of Belgian Greg van Avermat. Two seconds he loses his teammate American TJ van Garderen, Gilbert ranked third, three seconds behind the leader. Four-time winner of “Tour de France”, the Briton Chris froome (Sky) is 15th (delay of 57 seconds), the winner of “Tour de France” 2014 Italian Vincenzo nibali (Bahrain-Merida) – 17th (+1.08) . Russian Ilnur Zakarin (“Katyusha – Alpecin”) took 29th place in the overall standings, losing 1 minute 53 seconds.

Sagan won the tenth stage career in “Tour de France”. He won stages of the “Big loop” in 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017 and 2018. From 2012 to 2016 the Slovak invariably became the winner of the points classification. After five stages on the current “Tour de France” he also holds the lead in the points classification.

The sixth stage of the “Tour de France” will take place on July 12 between Brest and commune of Mur-de-Bretagne. The length of the stage, 181 km
