The suspect in cooperation with the special services of the Russian Federation, the translator of the Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, Stanislav Yezhov was not working with the information marked “for official use”, says the reply of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers at the request of the Agency “Interfax-Ukraine”.
According to the Secretariat of the Cabinet, S. Yezhov was dismissed from the post of Deputy head of Protocol of the Prime Minister on 21 December 2017.
The position which was taken by Sergei Yezhov, did not provide access to the state secret.
“According to Protocol, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, during his stay in the post processing of documents with the stamp “for official use” Yezhov Stanislav Stanislavovich not given,” – said in response to the request.
As reported, the SBU in the evening of 20 December, was detained for workplace officials of the Cabinet Secretariat S. Yezhov. “Militiamen established that the official had been recruited by the Russian intelligence services during long trips abroad. Field investigators of SBU documented that the officer on the instructions of Russian curators were gathered by special equipment information about the activities of government agencies. The data obtained by the malefactor gave the curators through the electronic communication channels”, – have informed in a press-the SBU center.
The detainee is notified of suspicion in committing a crime under part 1 of article 111 of the Criminal code of Ukraine (high treason), which provides for a measure of restraint in form of detention without alternatives.
S. Ezhov repeatedly carried out functions of personal interpreter premiere at various international meetings and during foreign trips.
Previously, he worked at the Ukrainian Embassy in the USA, and also in the administration of the President of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada.
According to the SBU, the detainee collected information about the foreign visits of the Ukrainian Prime Minister on the instructions of the GRU of the General staff of the Armed forces of the Russian Federation and its activities do not fall under the definition of espionage.
