SIMFEROPOL, August 1. /TASS/. Tax revenues in the budget of the Crimea from the tourism industry in the first half of 2018, compared to the same period last year increased by more than a quarter. On Wednesday said the Minister of resorts and tourism of Crimea Vadim Volchenko at a meeting with members of the delegation from Slovakia.

“Tax revenues in the budget of the Crimea from the tourism industry since the beginning of the year increased by 26.6 per cent,” he said, without specifying the amount.

“The plan for the next three to five years: increasing the share of direct tax revenues from the tourism industry in the total amount of GRP up to 18-20%,” – said the Minister.

Earlier it was reported that the tourist flow in the Republic on the background of the opening of the Crimean bridge in the first half of 2018 grew by 25% to 3.3 million compared to the same period last year.

According to Volchenko, the growth of tourist traffic, in addition to the opening of the bridge, was also influenced by “adequate supply” from hoteliers and an extensive advertising campaign of the Crimea.

It is expected that this year the Crimea will take more than 6 million tourists, said Volchenko. Last year visited the Republic of 5.4 million people.
