MOSCOW, may 1. /TASS/. New tools for the protection of sappers tested in Syria, will enter service in Armed forces (VS) Russia this year. This was reported to journalists by the chief of the engineering troops of the armed forces Lieutenant – General Yuri Stavitskiy.

“We in the task progress (on humanitarian mine action in Syria) has pioneered a brand new search tools, which today are accepted on arms”,- said Stavitskiy.

According to him, all the applied tools have demonstrated good quality.

“We also tested new means of protection of the sapper, who also this year received on supply of armed forces, particularly the army corps of engineers,” added the General.

In Syria, he recalled, was widely used robots and specialized dogs .

“All of this certainly gave an opportunity to promptly perform the tasks, it does not incur losses”, – concluded Stavitsky.

As previously reported, according to the defense Ministry of the Russian Federation, from March 8 through April 20 in the historic Palmyra of explosive debris was cleared 1514 hectares, about 2 thousand buildings and structures, 140 km of roads.

All were found and destroyed 6,6 thousand explosive objects, including 630 improvised explosive devices. Only mine involved more than 150 Russian specialists and 17 units of special equipment.
