MOSCOW, March 31. /TASS/. The adaptation of the football stadium “Zenit arena” to host the 2018 world Cup and confederations Cup in 2017 has been completed. About it reports a press-service General contractor construction company Metrostroy.

Earlier Vice-the Governor of St. Petersburg Igor Albin announced that the stadium will be ready on March 31.

The stadium, which will host matches of the world Cup in 2018, was founded in the Western part of Krestovsky island in 2007. His project is repeatedly adjusted, each time the price increased. At the end of 2016 is finalizing work on the construction of the stadium was divided into two stages.

The company “Metrostroy” in late December announced the execution of major construction works on two major contracts for the completion and improvement of the area around the stadium. In the second phase – until the end of March – it was planned to bring the stadium into compliance with the requirements of the International football Federation for the world Cup.

The confederations Cup will be held from 17 June to 2 July 2017. World Cup matches will be held from 14 June to 15 July 2018.
