The working group dealing with the settlement of the situation around the facade of the Theatre on Podil is located on the Andriyivskyy descent Kiev, has determined that the theater building must pass two examination. This was announced by the chief of staff of the Kyiv city state administration Volodymyr Bondarenko, reports the website of the KSCA.

“We focused on the two examinations – this urban analysis, that is, that it would be possible to build on the land, and examination of design solutions, that is, in fact, is a comprehensive examination about which we spoke earlier. It is difficult to say about the cost of such examinations, but I want to note that the two organizations agreed to hold them free – the national Union of architects of Ukraine and the Institute of General plan of Kyiv city”, – said Bondarenko .

At the meeting the working group discussed proposals on sources of financing and the desirability or necessity of stopping the construction work on the project. According to the chief of staff of the city administration, the group’s goal is to find a balanced and responsible solution to the problem with the building of the theatre and develop a process to avoid similar conflicts in the future.

As reported, the working group on Theatre on Podol was founded in January of this year. To may, and it should form the recommendations of the Architectural and town-planning Council and the chief architect of the city of Kiev in relation to the building.

Note, the renovated theater is planned to open in March 2017. Presentation of the facade of the Kiev drama Theatre on Podol took place on 29 November at 10:00. During the opening of the facade part of the audience shouted, “shame!”, also sounded applause. Before the presentation of Kiev angered the new facade of the building. Negative reaction stems from the fact that after the reconstruction the theatre does not fit into the overall picture: modern black building stands out on the background of old houses. Theatre on Podol promised not to be commissioned until its appearance does not approve of the public.
