The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine postponed to 1 January 2018 entry into force of the rules according to which medical institutions are obliged to purchase medicines and medical products (MD) solely from the National list of essential medicines.

The decision was taken at a meeting on Wednesday.

In March, the Cabinet approved a new national list of essential medicines, as well as a number of changes in some normative legal acts, one of which requires medical facilities that are partially or fully funded by the state or local budgets, from 1 September 2017 to procure drugs exclusively from the list. Starting 1 January 2018, there is a norm that allows clients after ensuring 100% drug needs of Nezperce, purchase of drugs not included in it.

A number of NGOs and activists, demanded to transfer the norm to the point not yet settled the matter with the purchase of essential drugs for certain categories of patients not included in Naperechet .

In addition, the Cabinet approved amendments to the list of pharmaceuticals and medical devices procured using international organizations at the expense of state budget in 2017.
