Chief of the General staff – chief of the Armed forces of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko noted positive changes due to implementation of leadership programs for NCOs APU, but drew attention to the need to improve social protection NCO.

V. Muzhenko on his Facebook page on Friday said that during the weeks worked in the training centers of training of sergeants (Vasylkiv, Mykolaiv Desna), in which officers are sergeants and petty.

“Note the positive changes in the implementation of leadership programs for NCOs coming from the troops. A significant merit of our “team Sergeant” in the General staff, sergeants-instructors, training centres and partners from Lithuania, Canada, USA, UK”, – said the chief of staff.

At the same time, Viktor Muzhenko said the main priority issues raised by the sergeants: “Improving social protection NCO. For example, the possibility of obtaining monetary compensation for housing rent (bill No. 5027, which is pending in Parliament) . Cash collateral non-commissioned officers should be differentiated by level of responsibility in accordance with the positions. This is one of the main reasons for dismissal from the army sergeants and petty officers with combat experience.”

Earlier in January, the people’s Deputy of the faction “Block of Petro Poroshenko”, the Chairman of the standing delegation to the NATO parliamentary Assembly Irina Friz stressed that the Parliament and the government should expedite the adoption of the decisions necessary for the reform of the NCO corps of the APU, including NATO standards.

In Parliament in August 2016 registered a bill (#5027) on the amendments to article 12 of the law “On social and legal protection of servicemen and members of their families.” In December 2017, the consideration of the document was postponed.
